Your detailed program

In the skin of a beekeeper

In the Roquefort region, we have sheep, but we also have bees! They forage in a mosaic of landscapes, between Rougier, Causses, garrigues and valleys, on a dozen sites rich in biodiversity, preserved by passionate farmers. Follow Nadia and Bruno as they immerse you in the world of bees. Share a moment of wonder at the world of bees, cultivate your bond with nature!

Windowed hives, hives opened in complete safety and mini-films on the apiaries: everything is there to lead you into the discovery, all 5 senses awake, of the world of bees in real time of the contemporary profession of organic beekeeper!

Watch the opening of a hive live, without any risk, and enjoy the macro details thanks to a live camera. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to witness a birth!

Discover the inside of a hive, the wax and smell its fragrance live, assemble and disassemble a hive to understand how it works, take a frame of honey in hand.

Learn to recognize the types of bees, their daily harvests, their exchanges, take part in honey extraction (during harvest time) in the workshop…

After this intimate encounter with the bees, what could be better than a tasting? During an introduction to organoleptic flavor analysis, you’ll have no fewer than 10 honeys to taste. Will you be able to identify the woody, floral and animal notes of our honeys?

A memorable experience, guaranteed to awaken your senses in a universe as exciting as it is gourmet!

Alcas Farm

Today’s objective was to discover the magnificent fortified village of Saint-Jean d’Alcas, in the bucolic setting of Ferme d’Alcas.

Alexandre, a breeder at heart, and Emilie, a seeker of meaning, have taken up the family torch that has kept Ferme d’Alcas alive for over 5 generations. They look after 300 ewes who produce certified organic and Demeter milk. This milk, so carefully harvested, is delivered in part to Société for the manufacture of Roquefort cheese, and the rest is transformed on the farm into the Bleu d’Alcas cheese and yoghurts with their many flavors, which have made the reputation of these biodynamic producers far beyond the Aveyronnais department!

Proud of this know-how, they share their passion by warmly welcoming you to visit their farm. With a photo exhibition retracing the steps involved in making yoghurt and cheese, their work and the specifics of biodynamic farming will no longer hold any secrets!

At the end of the visit, it’s the gourmet moment with a tasting of their farmhouse cheese made from raw ewe’s milk, their yoghurts or their jams. You’re sure to come away with a whole new perspective on agriculture and the living world.

The visit ends with a tasting of their farmhouse cheese made from raw ewe’s milk, yoghurts and jams.
